Kangana Ranaut takes 'Pratigya'

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut stands with Star Plus' Pratigya in her special resolve...

Bollywood's sizzling actress Kangana Ranaut introduced the protagonist of Star Plus' upcoming show Pratigya to the media in a conference held today at Delhi.

The show is a reflection of the society we live in, where women often grapple with difficult and are forced to tolerate disrespect and ill treatment against their will. Against this backdrop, STAR Plus brings in a truly inspiring and moving story of an ordinary girl who finds the inner strength to deal with the circumstances in her life to transform and shape her reality.

The lead role of 'Pratigya' will be played by Pooja Gaur.

Talking about Pratigya, Pooja said, "Most women tolerate and suffer but a very few stand up and fight back. Pratigya's story is one of a young girl who finds the courage to stand up and take charge of the situation transforms her life."

In her support is Bollywood's young woman icon Kangana Ranaut who has closely dealt with a similar situation in the family. She stressed on the need to fight back against disrespect towards women and joined Pratigya in her pledge to do away with mediocrity and stand for her respect and dignity.

Kangana shakes like Shakira

Two hotties of Bollywood Sushmita Sen and Kangana Ranaut will shake their sleek hips like none other than Colombian singer Shakira. The track goes as Shakira Jaisi Hile Lakhni...and Sushmita Sen and Kangana Ranaut draped in an expensive saree effortlessly shaking their hips. Composed by music composer Pritam, the track has a Punjabi flavor.

Sushmita and Kangana are playing two sisters in the film titled, ‘No Problem’ directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Anil Kapoor. The two sisters will be seen matching steps to Chinni Prakash’s choreography. The song is being shot at the Filmistan Studios and the lyrics has been penned by lyricist Kumar who penned down ‘Maa Ka Ladla’ from ‘Dostana’.

The film stars Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Paresh Rawal and Shakti Kapoor. The situation of the dance number is very entertaining as Kangna is getting engaged to Akshaye in the film.

Sanjay Dutt lights up Kangana

50-year old Sanjay Dutt has been shooting with 20-something Kangana Ranaut. And if they were looking super-compatible in spite of Kangana being half the age of Dutt, it's all because of Dutt's special ketosis-based diet.

Today, Dutt is looking trimmer than he did ten years ago. And when he shot with Kangana last week, the camera made them look compatible.

Dutt plays an assassin out to get his victim with a sniper rifle in Knock Out. Kangana Ranaut has always had a fascination for assassin heroes. She began her career with Gangster where her assassin-hero was Shiney Ahuja.

Now in Mani Shankar's Knock Out, she's again attracted to the killer-hero, this time played by Sanjay Dutt. The two became professionally fond of one another while shooting for the comedy No Problem in Cape Town.

When Mani Shankar was looking for a bright intense young actress to play a television journalist it was Dutt who recommended Kangana to the director.

Kangana Ranaut Debut In telegu Movie Ek Niranja

Ek Niranjan, starring Prabhas and Kangana Ranaut, and directed by stylish director Puri Jagannath is releasing this Friday (October 29).

The Puri-Prabhas combo, which comes together after their Bujjigadu: Made in Chennai last summer, seems to be a big-budget affair.

With Puri, one of the top-notch and successful directors helming this film, expectations are bound to be high. Adithya Ram produces the film under the Ram Movies banner.

Puri Jagan is invariably on the lookout for new faces preferably from the Hindi heartlands.

He has launched quite a few heroines too like Hansika, Neha Sharma and now Kangana in Ek Niranjan.

Kangana, a name to be reckoned with in Hindi as far as acting goes, is said to have a substantial role in Ek Niranjan.

An interesting aspect of the film, of course is the presence of Kangana in Telugu.

I had Worst Ever Experience in Hoogly-Kangana Ranaut

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who is here to shoot for a film, was harassed by a group of hooligans in the Kaiserbagh locality of the city.

Kangana is here with co-stars R. Madhavan and Jimi Shergil for the past 10 days to shoot for Anand L. Rai's "Tanu weds Manu".

The incident took place Sunday at the Lal Baradari building where the cast and crew were shooting a sequence for the film around 10 p.m. It was a holiday, so a huge crowd, over 2,000, gathered around the location.

“It was horrible. A group of youngsters came very close to Kangana, Madhavan and Jimi and started passing lewd comments about her. Some of them also tried to touch Kangana," a crew member told IANS.

However, the police denied the allegations.

“Keeping in view the huge gathering, we had deployed entire force of about four police stations at the Lal Baradari. The director, however, complained that due to the crowd they were having problems in shooting as people were coming into the frames," inspector K.M. Singh of Kaiserbagh police station told IANS.

No police complaint has been lodged.

“We will surely register an FIR if anyone from the crew approaches us with a formal complaint," Singh said.

Rai, who had earlier directed the thriller "Strangers" starring Jimi and Kay Kay Menon, is scheduled to film "Tanu weds Manu" in Kanpur, Faridkot, Patiala and New Delhi in the coming days.

The postponement of Once Upon A Time in Mumbai by 15 days was a blessing in disguise for Kangana Ranaut. She decided to make the most out of it and flew to Italy for the first time sans any friends, family or assistants. She had a ball of a time all alone and she even got marriage proposals.


“The Italians were very nice. The lighthearted and earnest flirting of young single Italian guys, calling me princess and asking me to marry them…some in French, because they thought I was from France, made me laugh! And I was touched by people’s easy helpfulness - strangers clicked my picture for me or attended to me at hotel receptions or called a cab for me or helped me carry my very heavy suitcases!

Strangers were friends and companions and I felt like we connected in a very spiritual way, even though I didn’t know their names. People were so polite and humble, that Italy became the most beautiful thing I have ever experienced,” she wrote on her blog.


She fell in with the place itself. “Italy’s a place I’ve always wanted to visit… and I was not disappointed…ancient culture, amazing art, fabulous food, lovely people, and lyrical language…I certainly did fall in love - with the place itself,” she said adding “I ate good food, visited beautiful places, fell in love with Michelangelo’s art, made wishes throwing coins in the fountain. I loved the works of Leonardo da Vinci and Raphael, by far my favorites. The ‘Last Supper’ is such an exquisite piece of art…I could look at it forever.”

Besides visiting famous historical places, Kangana went on a shopping spree at Milan. “One of the craziest things I did when I was not wealthy at all, soon after my film GANGSTER, was to buy a dress that I paid so much for that I had no money left at all…not even to put dinner on my table…and I never regretted it! So you can imagine my delight at being in Milan, which really does deserve its title as a fashion capital. I had the most fun shopping in Milan,” she wrote.

Now, she has returned home and all set to take on her films. Besides Once Upon A Time in Mumbai, she has films like No Problem, Tanu weds Manu and three other projects in her kitty. She is raring to go!

Kangana ranaut replaced Konkona Sen in 'Tanu Weds Manu'

This is an open secret that Kangna wasn't the only choice for the film "Tanu Weds Manu". Konkona Sen Sharma was the hot contender for the role before the age old Bollywood issue of 'dates problem' threw a spanner in Aanand's plans.

Anand says, "There were genuine date issues due to which Konkona couldn't come on board."

Kangana Ranaut has recently signed “Tanu Weds Manu”, a light hearted film, where she is paired opposite R. Madhavan. This unconventional pairing has been brought together by Aanand L Rai who has earlier directed a thriller strangers.

Team of "Tanu Weds Manu" are looking to shoot the film in the months of September, October and November but she is unavailable then. However, Anand is happy about Kangna now being signed for the film since she and Madhavan coming together would be really special for the film.

Anand says, "The film has an interesting soul while going well with the commercial aspects of things. I would be travelling across my locations through next few days and begin shooting in September."

Ek Niranjan featuring kangana to release on oct 29th

A 35-day schedule of Adityaram Movies' Ek Niranjan, directed by Puri Jagan and starring Prabhas and Kangana Ranaut in the lead roles, was held in Bangkok. The climax sequence and a few other scenes were filmed.

The shooting is currently in progress in Hyderabad. Except for two songs and some key scenes that are pending, the shooting of the film is complete.

Ek Niranjan is scheduled for a worldwide release on October 29th. The supporting cast includes Sonu Sood, Mukul Dev, Makrand Deshpande, Brahmanandam, Ali, Suneel, Venumadhav, Brahmaji, Tanikella Bharani, Sangeetha, Posani Krishna Murali, Satyaprakash and Sravan.

The music is by Mani Sharma, cinematography by Shyam K. Naidu, art by Channa, editing by MR Verma and action by Stun Shiva.

Kangana Ranaut on Farah Khan's ‘Tere Mere Beech Mein'

Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut who have starred in much hyped ‘Kites' are promoting their film through the talk show of Farah Khan ‘Tere Mere Beech Mein'.

‘Kites' has Hrithik Roshan, Kangana Ranaut and Barbara Mori as its star cast. In this Hrithik is playing the role of salsa instructor and Kangana is a rich student in his class who falls for him. And there is the love story between Hrithik and Barbara who can't understand each others language, which is set in Las Vegas.

Kangna Ranaut: No Problem comedy

She’s shooting her very first comedy — No Problem with Akshaye Khanna — and will take up another, Tannu Weds Mannu with R Madhavan, immediately after that. This image change couldn’t have come at a better time.

Yes, I am seeing a lot of changes recently, more positive than negative thankfully,” she said of her personal and professional life. Excited about doing comedy, Kangna said, “It’s taken so long for me to do what most conventional actresses start out doing — romance or romantic comedies. But better late than never. I was tired of being depressed, now it’s time to have some fun,” she said.

Admitting she’s not too funny a person in real life, despite having a humorous side, the sexy star said, “I am glad I did the intense kind of roles early on in my career. But now I am happy with the kind of films coming my way.” And that includes Once Upon A Time In Mumbai and the Hrithik Roshan-Barbara Mori-starrer Kites, amongst others. Does she feel left out considering the film is being promoted solely with these two stars? “I have done my job, the rest is the filmmakers’ call, they can market it in whatever way they want to,” she replied, adding, “at the end of the day, it’s only good performances that’ll stand out.”

Her break-up has not really left Kangna heart-broken and hurt, or the actress is not showing any signs of it. “It’ll take a lot more than these ups and downs in life to break me,” she said. “And it’s really not as if I am working to get over anything. Work’s keeping me busy for work’s sake, but yes, it’s keeping me distracted from pondering too much about the past. I know that love hurts sometimes, but I can never stop being in love.”
